Cordova Youth Council Member Recruitment Meeting October 21st!

We are looking for motivated middle & high school students with strong leadership skills and a positive attitude. The mission of the Cordova Youth Council is to meet the needs of the youth/teens in the community by promoting fun and positive youth development through people, parks and programs.

Interested in joining? Come to our 1st meeting on Wednesday, October 21st at Cordova High School from 6:00PM –7:30PM in room E-10.

FREE Activities Include: Haunted House, Children’s Carnival, Child Identification, Shriner’s Clowns, Pumpkin Carving Contest, Costume Contest

Fall of Rock Jam Night – Rock the house & get PAID to do it!
We are looking for bands ages 12-21 to perform on November 6th at Cordova High School. All bands must provide their own equipment
Five bands will be selected to perform and there is no cost involved. In fact, 50% of the admission fees collected from the public will be given to the bands who perform!

All bands must do the following:
* Submit an application no later than October 23rd to Cordova Recreation & Park District Office at 2197 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova CA 95670
- Applications are available at our district office or you can retrieve it online at www.crpd.com
* Schedule a brief meeting with Rachel Durnbaugh, Teen Recreation Coordinator, before October 23rd and submit some form of audio and/or video clip of your band’s music

High School College Tours!
Attention Students! Cordova High, Rosemont High, & George Washington Carver!
Are you looking to find the right college fit? One of the best things you can do is to visit campuses. Tours are conducted by friendly and enthusiastic tour guides whose knowledge and perspective of the college is fashioned from their primary role as students. Each campus tour will give information about the services, activities, programs, and educational opportunities available to students.

* The first tour is scheduled for November 4th. We will be touring U.C. Davis & Sac State University.
This trip will include Transportation & Lunch for the cost of $29.
